Mobius Arch, Alabama Hills, Lone Pine - California

While Mobius Arch is identical in composition to the rocky 14,000 foot peak of Mount Whitney looming above it… the unique appearance of the Arch is formed by the weathering process. The drier air in valley slowly eroded the rock combined with the effects of water and wind over thousands of years.
I could spend the rest of my life in these hills and still find images that I love. This one is a particular favourite as the random shapes and textures inspire so many differing thoughts and emotions.
This image featured in my joint exhibition with Ansel Adams.
